उत्तराखण्ड में मासूम बेटी अंकिता हत्याकांड मामले में मुख्यआरोपी पुलकित आर्य समेत सभी आरोपी पुलिस की गिरफ़्त में हैं, इधर इस मामले में जहां एक ओर सरकार की सख़्ती के कारण रिज़ॉर्ट मलिक के साथ ही रिजार्ट पर भी बुल्डोजर चला दिया गया, वहीं इस मसले पर जब कुछ छुटभैया नेताओं को कुछ कहने को नहीं मिला तो उन्होंने इसपर अब राजनीति भी शुरू कर दी है।
पुलिस और प्रशासन की सख़्ती पर कुछ सवाल भी उठ रहे हैं, कि रिज़ॉर्ट पर बुल्डोज़र चलाने से क्राइम सीन में परिस्थितिजनक साक्ष्यों से कोई छेड़-छाड़ की आशंका है?

इस बीच प्रारंभिक पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट में अंकिता के शरीर पर चोट के निशान मिले हैं और पानी में डूबने से मौत दिखाई है। संभवत अंकिता के साथ मारपीट की गयी और फिर उसे नहर में धकेल दिया गया। इस मामले में SIT गठित हो चुकी है और IPS पी. रेणुका की छवि एक कुशल और ईमानदार अफसर की है। दोषियों को कड़ी से कड़ी सजा मिलेगी।
