बीते कुछ वर्षों से लंबित पड़ी नए लक्ष्मणझूला पुल के निर्माण की योजना को उम्मीदों के पंख लगते हुए नजर आ रहे हैं। इसके निर्माण हेतु शासन ने वित्तीय स्वीकृति प्रदान की है। इस पर स्थानीय जनप्रतिनिधियों, व्यापारियों और क्षेत्रवासियों ने विकास पुरूष के नाम से प्रसिद्ध कैबिनेट मंत्री सुबोध उनियाल का आभार व्यक्त किया है।
नए लक्ष्मणझूला पुल के निर्माण को वित्तीय स्वीकृति मिलने पर कैबिनेट मंत्री सुबोध उनियाल ने कहा कि पूर्व में लक्ष्मणझूला पुल की भार वहन क्षमता कम होने के कारण उस पर पूर्ण रूप से आवाजाही बंद कर दी गई थी। इस कारण यहां के व्यापारियों और स्थानीय लोगों को खासी दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ा। जिसके बाद स्थानीय व्यापारियों और लोगों ने यहां नए पुल के निर्माण की मांग की। उन्होंने बताया कि शासन की ओर से लक्ष्मणझूला पुल के समीप नए झूला पुल हेतु धनराशि को स्वीकृति मिल चुकी है। नगर पालिका परिषद मुनिकीरेती-ढालवाला के अध्यक्ष रोशन रतूड़ी ने कहा कि लक्ष्मणझूला में नए पुल के निर्माण से क्षेत्र में पर्यटन संबंधी गतिविधियों में बढ़ोत्तरी होगी। जिससे यहां विभिन्न प्रकार के रोजगार के अवसर पैदा होंगे।
लोक निर्माण विभाग नरेंद्रनगर के अधिशासी अभियंता मौहम्मद आरिफ खान ने बताया कि 6886.20 लाख रूपए की लागत से लक्ष्मणझूला में गंगा के उपर 132.30 मीटर लंबे झूला पुल का निर्माण किया जाना है। बताया कि यहां जमीन टेस्टिंग आदि के बाद नए पुल के निर्माण हेतु टेंडर प्रक्रिया शुरू हो चुकी है। दिसंबर से कार्य शुरू होने की उम्मीद है।
