आजादी का 75वां दिवस मनाने के लिए नगर प्रशासन की ओर से ऐतिहासिक विशाल तिरंगा रैली निकाली गई जिससे पर्यटन नगरी तिरंगामय हो गयी। रैली में आईटीबीपी, मसूरी के सभी हिंदी माध्यम व अंग्रेजी माध्यम के स्कूलों सहित आंगनवाड़ी, सामाजिक संस्थाओं व शहर वासियों ने प्रतिभाग किया। व रास्ते भर भारत माता की जय, वंदे मातरम, आदि नारे लगा वातावरण को गुजांयमान किया गया।
आजादी के 75वें वर्ष के उपलक्ष में नगर प्रशासन ने ऐतिहासिक तिरंगा रैली का आयोजन सर्वे के मैदान से किया जहां मसूरी के विधायक व प्रदेश में कबीना मंत्री गणेश जोशी ने झंडी दिखा कर रवाना किया। जो लंढौर चौक, लंढौर बाजार, घंटाघर, कुलड़ी, मालरोड शहीद स्थल होते हुए गांधी चौक तक गई जहां पर संबोधन के बाद तिरंगा रैली का समापन किया गया। इस दौरान पूरा मसूरी तिरंगामय हो गया व वातावरण आजादी के नारों से गुजायमान होता रहा। रैली में शामिल स्कूली बच्चों का जोश देखते ही बनता था वहीं गुरू नानक फिफत सेंटेनरी स्कूल के बच्चों ने रास्ते भर पारंपरिक वेशभूषा पहन भंगड़ा नृत्य किया वहीं आईटीबीपी के जवानों ने भी नृत्य किया। रैली में सबसे आगे आईटीबीपी के जवान चल रहे थे वहीं विभिन्न विद्यालयों के एनसीसी, एनएसएस के छात्र भी शामिल रहे। रैली में भारत माता की झांकी एक सजे वाहन में थी।
गांधी चौक में अपने संबोधन में मंत्री गणेश जोशी ने कहा कि तिरंगा हमारी आजादी की पहचान है जब देश के आजादी का आंदोलन चल रहा था तब इसी तिरंगे को लेकर आजादी के दीवाने जनता को जागरूक करते थे और आजादी के 75वें वर्ष में देश के प्रधानमंत्री नरेद्र मोदी ने पूरे देश को देश में तिरंगा यात्रा का संदेश देकर देशवासियों को देश वसियों फिर से देश प्रेम के रंग में रंग दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि और 15 अगस्त को पूरा देश तिरंगामय होगा क्यो कि हर घर तिरंगा लगाया जायेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि आज विश्व में भारत की जो पहचान प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने बनाई उससे पूरे भारत की जनता मोदी के साथ खड़ी है। इस मौके पर पालिकायध्यक्ष अनुज गुप्ता ने कहा कि जिस उत्साह से भव्य तिरंगा यात्रा निकाली गई उसके लिए मसूरी के सभी सकूल व जनता बधाई की पात्र है उन्होंने कहा कि ऐसे मौके पर हमें संकल्प लेना होगा कि जो भी कार्य करें देश निर्माण के लिए करें उसमें देश हित सर्वोपरि होना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि नगर पालिका पूरे शहर को तिरंगामय करने के लिए जी जान से लगी है। इस मौके पर एसडीएम नरेश दुर्गापाल ने कहा कि शहर में भव्य तिरंगा रैली का आयोजन किया गया जिसमें सभी स्कूलों के बच्चों ने भाग लिया जिसमें करीब 34 स्कूल शामिल हुए वहीं पूरे शहर वासियों ने भी भागी दारी की। वहीं उन्होंने आईटीबीपी का विशेष आभार व्यक्त किया जिन्होंने रैली में शामिल होकर छात्रों में जोश भरा व गांधी चौक पर बल के बैंड ने मनमोहक धुनों की प्रस्तुति दी। इस मौके पर आईटीबीपी के सेनानी प्रशासन ने सभी को आजादी के 75वें दिवस की बधाई दी व अपेक्षा की कि सभी देशवासी देश के हित में वे देश की प्रगति के लिए कार्य करेंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत का ध्वज तिरंगा देश की एकता को मजबूत करता है। कार्यक्रम का संचालन परविंद रावत ने किया।
