मालूम हो कि कोतवाली मसूरी में आईटीबीपी की महिला जवान ने एक जवान पर दुष्कर्म करने का आरोप लगा कर तहरीर दी थी जिस पर पुलिस ने मामले की विवेचना महिला एसआई पिंकी पंवार को सौपी व आरोपी को पकड़ने के लिए एक टीम का गठन किया गया तथा धारा 376 के तहत मुकदमा दर्ज किया गया। मामले की विवेचना महिला उपनिरीक्षक पिंकी पंवार थाना कैन्ट ने शुरू की व आईटीबीपी कंबेट विंग में कार्यरत 29 वर्षीय जवान मोहन सिंह दानू पुत्र स्व. हिम्मत सिंह निवासी ग्राम खुन्ती पोस्ट खुन्ती थाना बलवाकोट तहसील धारचूला जिला पिथौरागढ को गिरफ्तार कर लिया व उन्हें न्यायालय में पेश होने हेतु भेज दिया गया। पुलिस टीम में वरिष्ठ उपनिरीक्षक गुमान सिंह नेगी, उप निरीक्षक महिला पिंकी पंवार व कांस्टेबल शेखर थे।
