The Congress has taken a jibe at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s visit to Uttarakhand and the announcement of providing free electricity.
Referring to the plight of Delhi in the second wave of Corona, former Chief Minister, and party’s national general secretary Harish Rawat said that Kejriwal should kindly keep his Delhi model in the bag. He said that if the budget of Uttarakhand is equal to the annual budget of Delhi, Congress will waive off electricity up to 400 units. State Congress President Pritam Singh said that AAP does not exist in the state. Therefore, to woo the public, an announcement has to be made to provide electricity free of cost.
On Kejriwal’s announcement of providing free electricity in Uttarakhand, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat posted in the internet media that the entire bill is collected in Delhi. In Delhi, the commercial electricity bill is charged at Rs 7.45 per unit, while in Uttarakhand Rs 5.80 is charged. There is no match between the income of Delhi and the income of Uttarakhand. Looking at the resources of the state, he has promised that 100 units will be given free of cost in the year of coming to power and 200 units in the second year.
