The wait of crores of people of Delhi-NCR for monsoon is increasing continuously. It is a different matter that people are getting relief due to light rain in the middle of seasonal fluctuations, but Delhi-NCR is waiting for the drizzle of monsoon. According to the India Meteorological Department, the chances of giving monsoon in Delhi-NCR are more like last year. If we look at the records for the last several years, the date of arrival of monsoon in the capital Delhi is 27th June and then the rainy season goes on such that by 8th July, the monsoon covers the whole country. Let us tell you that on June 25 last year, the monsoon had knocked in Delhi.
Earlier, the Meteorological Department had predicted the arrival of monsoon in Delhi 12 days in advance i.e. by June 15, in general, the monsoon reaches here by June 27. The monsoon reaches the entire country by July 8. According to Skymet Weather, a private agency that forecasts weather, the monsoon had reached Delhi on June 25 last year and the entire country by June 29. Mahesh Palawat of Skymet Weather said that this year also monsoon is likely to reach Delhi only by June 27.
The Meteorological Department says that this time the people of Delhi will have to wait a bit for the monsoon. Apart from capital Delhi, the progress of Southwest Monsoon is expected to be slow over neighboring Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, and Punjab. On a large scale, the weather conditions are not conducive to its growth. This information has been given by the Meteorological Department recently. In such a situation, the monsoon will knock in Delhi by the end of this week.
