राष्ट्रीय नदी गंगा की स्वच्छता एवं निर्मलता के दृष्टिगत उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने हरिद्वार में उप्र सिंचाई विभाग की 1000 वर्ग मीटर भूमि एक रुपये की वार्षिक लीज पर उत्तराखंड को देने सहमति दे दी है। इस भूमि में जर्मन विकास बैंक (केएफडब्लू) से वित्त पोषित 120 मिलियन यूरो की परियोजना के तहत 12.07 एमएलडी (मिलियन लीटर डेली) क्षमता के दो सीवेज पंपिंग स्टेशन स्थापित किए जाएंगे।
मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने गंगा की निर्मलता के लिए इस परियोजना को महत्वपूर्ण बताया। साथ ही भूमि उपलब्ध कराने में दिए गए सहयोग के लिए उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ के प्रति आभार जताया है। गंगा बेसिन में स्थित राज्यों में पर्यावरणीय अनुकूल नगर विकास कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत उत्तराखंड में हरिद्वार व ऋषिकेश में सीवर नेटवर्क को सुदृढ़ करने के लिए केएफडब्लू परियोजना शुरू की जा रही है।
परियोजना के तहत हरिद्वार में एक पैकेज और ऋषिकेश में पांच पैकेज के लिए निविदाएं आमंत्रित की जा चुकी हैं। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी निरंतर इस परियोजना की प्रगति समीक्षा करते आ रहे हैं। इस बीच परियोजना के तहत हरिद्वार में सीवेज पंपिंग स्टेशन के लिए दो स्थानों पर भूमि तलाश की गई, लेकिन यह उत्तर प्रदेश सिंचाई विभाग के अधीन है। इस पर मुख्यमंत्री धामी ने प्रयास किए और उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार से यह भूमि लीज पर उपलब्ध कराने का अनुरोध किया।
अब उप्र सरकार ने हरिद्वार में बैरागी कैंप (ज्ञान गोशाला के पास) व सूखी नदी (रानीपुर रौ के रपटे पास) में पांच-पांच सौ वर्ग मीटर भूमि इस परियोजना के लिए उत्तराखंड को देने पर सहमति दे दी है। बैरागी कैंप के पास 0.3 एमएलडी और सूखी नदी में 12.04 एमएलडी क्षमता के सीवेज पंपिंग स्टेशन स्थापित किए जाएंगे।
अपर सचिव पेयजल (नमामि गंगे) उदयराज सिंह ने इसकी पुष्टि की। उन्होंने बताया कि पिछले माह केएफडब्लू परियोजना फेज-द्वितीय में 30 मिलियन यूरो के लिए जर्मन विकास बैंक और राज्य सरकार के मध्य अनुबंध हस्ताक्षरित हुआ था। इसके तहत शेष बचे क्षेत्रों में सीवर नेटवर्क को सुदृढ़ किया जाएगा।
